People residing in Singapore who suffer from chronic pain and migraines related to fibromyalgia can now get treated with PainX, a Soterix Medical’s therapeutic device. PainX is an alternate treatment to already existing ones, and it is not invasive.
Shortly after the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) in Singapore approved the treatment, the company announced the new develo pment.
The HSA also approved Depression tDSC-LTE, a medical device belonging to the same company, to handle symptoms related to severe depression.

Depression tDCS-LTE and PainX are both based on the transcranial Direct Current Stimulation technologies (tDCS) belonging to Soterix. This technology uses electrodes to deliver mild electric current to a person’s head. It also comes with a cap that holds and positions the patches properly.
The developers of PainX created it to provide patients with an alternative method of treating severe pain. As we earlier explained, this therapy sends a mild electrical current to specific parts of the brain that creates the sensation of chronic pain.
This PainX has passed clinical trials where it proved to be effective and safe for treating migraines and fibromyalgia successfully.
The perfect candidates for PainX are those that didn’t respond positively to drugs. This treatment is without pain, and patients can go about their regular activities during treatment without restrictions.

A few side effects associated with Depression tDCS-LTE or PainX are slight tingling and itching.
Patients receive this therapy from a doctor twice or thrice weekly, and the administration takes about 30 minutes in the doctor’s office.
According to Karem Nazim, Soterix’s chief product manager, South East Asia is a critical location for Soterix Medical.
He also describes the approval HSA got as a sign of their drive to take their medical solutions and technologies across the globe. Nazim also added that the company plans to take its presence to other fast-developing markets.
Nazim declared that the approval puts them one step closer to getting approvals across South Korea, Japan, China, and other countries that demand such advanced therapies across the Asian continent.
From Soterix’s vice president of regulatory affairs, Renato Moratore, we don’t have medical devices that cater to patients and provide as many benefits over risk as Depression tDCS-LTE and PainX do.
Moratore expressed pleasure over their ability to get approval in the region, which he believes is for the good of the patients and physicians in the region.
Singapore-based health practitioners now have unfettered access to Soterix Medical Treatment Partnership Program. During this program, they can get Depression tDCS-LTE or PainX.
The package includes live staff training, specialized education, guidance for treatment, and continuous support for a practitioner or a health institution.
The United States only allows the use of the tDCS system for investigational purposes and not for treatment, because it hasn’t gotten the level of clearance as it has in Singapore.
